Geelong Midori Cocktail competition

The Midouri Cup cocktail making competition was held on Wednesday night at the City Quarter bar at the end of Cunningham’s pier on Geelong Waterfront. Attendees were enticed with six fantastic cocktail concoctions involving that delicious green liqueur known as Midouri mixed with various other liquors. The contestants on the night were Shane Purnell from MaxHotel, Matt Meggs from Gallery Club, Tay Kelly from Edge, Paul Shakespeare from Opium Bar, Jack Krzywdzinski from Lord of the Isles and Sean Armstrong from Cloud 9. Each presented the three judges with their own superbly presented invention and then created the same for the patrons to sample. The judges had a hard time (but a fun time) coming up with a winner eventually deciding on Paul Shakespeare’s Lemon Tart as the best presented drink of the contest. Stop in to the Opium Bar and I’m sure he’ll make you one up! Hey, why not stop into all the represented bars and try them out for yourself!

Cheers!
